Link Love Fridays – Episode #1

by TomToronto

I haven’t had a chance to get a decent post up in the past few days, and I’m having a hard time coming up with topics this morning. I figured this would be a great time to start a new weekly segment, to get the ball rolling. As a result, welcome to the inaugural edition of LINK LOVE FRIDAYS! Showcasing my favourite blog posts in the PR world for the week. On with the show!

Our first post comes from Ed Lee, author of Blogging Me, Blogging You. Over at iStudio they have a great new holiday card they have called the Do Not Want Ads. Lots of fun, it ate up a lunch hour of mine earlier in the week. I strongly recommend checking it out.

Next up, we have a hilarious post from Bob LeDrew, author of Flacklife, about Montel Williams, and his inability to deal with the hard hitting journalism of a high school intern at the Savannah Morning News. Big kudos to Courtney Scott for the chutzpah to ask Montel about pharmaceutical ethics.

Today there are a couple of great posts debating whether or not to join Twitter. One from BuzzCanuck, representing those still sitting on the fence, and one from The New PR advocating signing up. I’m still on the fence, but mainly because I doubt anyone is interested in my twittering.

Let’s wrap this up with a couple of shout outs, shall we? Guru of PR Measurement Alan Chumley posted a link to an international survey of PR practitioners from Bournemouth University. An important study no doubt, I hope you can take the time to contribute.

Special thanks go out to David Jones, who extended a very generous invitation to join the Public Relations network on Feedburner. I’m in highly esteemed company on that list, it will no doubt be an excellent learning opportunity, and I will do my best to contribute! Click the link on the sidebar to explore the group, or to subscribe. Unfortunately WordPress won’t let me use java script since this is a free account, so there’s no fancy badge for now. I’ll figure out a way around it, but until then, please use the subtle links to the right.

Have a great weekend!
